FAQs

We understand that transitions come with questions. This page addresses common questions about our refreshed community experience and helps you make the most of our new space during this pilot phase.

Take a peek at the questions below for immediate answers based on submiss submissions.

If you don't see your question addressed, please click the button below ⬇️ and submit a new question. These FAQs are regularly updated based on member questions and feedback, so check back periodically for the latest information. If you've submitted a question, we'll email you as soon as your response has been posted here.

  • Based on the outcomes of a recent feedback survey and an in-depth analysis of member participation, we learned that most members weren't regularly visiting the platform. And… we also learned there is a lot of interest to be in community and connection. So… we explored different options to better support communication and reduce friction. So, we decided to pilot a different approach to see if it more positively impacts participation. That includes a hybrid solution where we chat on LinkedIn and we use the Community Nook to coordinate and support events and deeper moments of connection.

  • We are running this pilot model through the late summer / early fall. During this period, we'll learn together how this alternative approach creates more valuable connections. You'll be given an opportunity to provide additional feedback on your experiences as well as weigh in on what you'd like to see in the longer term.

At that point, we'll assess engagement patterns and determine the next steps together. We’ll make this decision before the majority of memberships are scheduled for renewal in October. This timing will allow everyone to make informed choices about their continued involvement.

  • No. All current members will have access to all the shared resources and connection opportunities just as with the former community model. We will be able to support the financial expenses of this framework through the duration of the pilot, which also will be our collective decision point for next steps. We’ll have definitive direction in place by September-end to allow members to make their choices about continued participation before the peak renewal season kicks off.

  • You'll receive an invitation to join our private group, which is being extended to you. This space is reserved exclusively and only for current members. It will be your primary connection point with the community. It will function similarly to other Private LinkedIn groups with one potential exception. Our community will gate postings based on "fit" and consistency with the same tone and tenor of posts in our former community space.

Our goal is to get as much of your great input into our community conversation. A community moderator will review and approve all posts - and - will share back with you if for any reason the post falls outside boundaries. All posts will be approved same day or within one business day with exceptions for holidays and holiday breaks.

For more information about LinkedIn community guidelines - explore here.

If you haven't received your invitation to the LinkedIn Community, please contact us.

Community Nook functions as our central resource hub where you can:

Contact us to discuss how your skills and interests might support the community.

  • We are suspending our new member development program until we determine the longer-term vision for the community. If we choose to stay connected as a community at the end of the pilot period, we'll consider onboarding additional new members at that time.

If you know someone who is interested in joining, please direct them to this waitlist form and we'll be in touch if we reach that point.

  • All important community updates will be sent directly to your email. This includes information about any changes to the community structure, upcoming decision points, and other critical announcements. For more routine updates and conversations, check the LinkedIn group regularly.

Email is now the primary and direct way we communicate with members about important community updates and changes. To be sure you stay informed, please add membership@coachescooperative.org to your contacts/safe sender list.

Additionally, please remain subscribed to all community emails. If you choose to unsubscribe, you risk missing important updates that impact your membership, and we are not responsible for missed notices if they land in spam or if you unsubscribe from emails.

  • Our community guidelines, participation expectations, and governance structure are available in the Member Info section of the Community Nook. These guidelines help us maintain a supportive, respectful environment that aligns with our shared values.

These guidelines may be updated periodically, so it's advisable to check back routinely for any changes. We strive to notify members of significant updates, but it's ultimately each member's responsibility to stay informed about current community guidelines.

  • Your input is valuable as we navigate this transition together. You can share your thoughts, suggestions, and experiences through:

We'll be actively collecting member insights throughout this transition period to help inform our collective decision-making process.

Please note that all feedback shared will be saved for consideration, but there's no commitment to take action on specific suggestions. While we value every member's input, it may not be possible to provide direct or detailed responses to individual feedback. Rest assured that your thoughts will be included in our overall assessment of the community's direction.

Community Guidance & Governance

Our community is guided by shared values and clear expectations to ensure a respectful, professional environment for all members. These documents outline the frameworks that support our collaborative experience. Please note that these documents are updated from time to time and without separate notice to the membership. We advise that you check back periodically to stay apprised of the latest terms and norms that guide the community experience.

  • Connect, share, support, and grow with each other.

This is a private community connection to support each other as we move through our individual experiences of uncertainty and ongoing change.

The Community exists to encourage our members to connect with other coaches to support and learn from each other. This community is guided, first and foremost, by confidentiality, safety, and trust. We offer the same confidentiality to members of this group as we would to any client in a coaching conversation. What's shared in this group is clearly intended to be held closely and safely by the membership.

    Community Conduct Expectations

Play nice. Be committed to treating each other with kindness and respect regardless of your personal, professional, or political beliefs. We're an assembly of many types of people who all have the right to feel comfortable as they express their experiences and perspectives. Offer real and honest help, recognize and thank people for their contributions, and be patient with those who may be struggling in any way.

Assume positive intent. Approach all interactions and engagements with an open mindset and safely assume that all members are acting from a space of positivity and support.

Seek first to understand. Sharing and exploring varying POVs is encouraged as it's in the diversity of perspectives that new ideas have room to come forward, and we create a space to grow - individually and as a community.

Healthy approaches to disagreement. It's OK to challenge the ideas or opinions of others in our community so long as you act respectfully to all participating in the dialog. If you disagree with a statement, please consider a reasonable response that offers insight into your POV without discrediting or marginalizing others.

Be kind and respectful. We are here to stand each other up and be a support system for all members. We approach interactions with compassion and respect for others. There's no place for mean, rude, offensive, or antagonistic interplay.

Anti-Intolerance. While we believe everyone here understands this last element... we include this statement in all conduct guidelines so that everyone here feels safe and protected from harmful forms of dehumanizing and marginalizing treatment. There is zero tolerance for all forms of cyberbullying, cyber-harassment, hate speech, or threats based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, sex, gender, gender identity, disability, or immigration status.

    Monitoring and Enforcement

What happens if someone violates the code of conduct?

We are a self-governing group - and adhere to the "see it, say it" guidance from the ICF Code of Ethics. If you see an issue, you should feel safe and comfortable in drawing attention that someone's action may not align with what we value in this community. If you believe someone has stepped outside the boundaries of appropriate conduct or require any further assistance with our Code of Conduct, don't hesitate to contact the community administrator.

All community spaces, including our LinkedIn group and the Community Nook, are monitored to help identify and resolve any violations with our conduct guidance. If you receive a message from a moderator regarding a specific interaction, we ask that you consider the feedback and respond appropriately. The moderator may also request the community administrator delete the post or comment, which may occur with or without notice.

If, for any reason, you believe that someone has directed any inappropriate behavior toward you, please send a private and direct message to the community administrator. Please know that these communications are managed with the utmost care and priority.

Further action may be required if issues persist with any member, including revoking membership privileges and removal from the community. Violations of our anti-tolerance guidance may result in a permanent ban. If an individual is removed from the community due to ongoing conduct issues, they also will forfeit any subscription fees paid.

We are grateful that we have not had any issues causing us to suspend or remove a member from our community!
